2017 წლის ივნისში, საქართველოს პარლამენტმა მიიღო კანონი „ბუღალტრული აღრიცხვის, ანგარიშგებისა და აუდიტის შესახებ“, რომლის მიხედვითაც, კერძო კომპანიების დიდ ნაწილს უჩნდებათ ვალდებულება ჩაატარონ აუდიტი IFRS-ის მიხედვით და ის საჯაროდ გამოაქვეყნონ. დღეისათვის საქართველოში კერძო კომპანიების მხოლოდ მცირე ნაწილი აქვეყნებს საჯაროდ საკუთარ ფინანსურ მაჩვენებლებს.
რეფორმას უხელმძღვანელებს „ბუღალტრული აღრიცხვის, ანგარიშგებისა და აუდიტის ზედამხედველობის სამსახური“, რომელიც ფინანსთა სამინისტროს დაქვემდებარებაში არსებული უწყებაა. რეფორმა უნდა განხორციელდეს ასოცირების ხელშეკრულების ხელმოწერიდან სამი წლის ვადაში და წლის ბოლომდე უნდა ამოქმედდეს ელექტრონული პორტალი reportal.ge, რომელზეც კომპანიები საკუთარ ფინანსურ მაჩვენებლებს გამოაქვეყნებენ. რეფორმის მიხედვით, კომპანიები ზომის და ფუნქციის მიხედვით ხუთ კატეგორიად დაიყოფიან და მათ ფინანსური მაჩვენებლების გამოქვეყნების განსხვავებული მოთხოვნები ექნებათ.
