National Bank of Georgia approved Corporate Governance Code for listed issuers of financial securities.

The code's main objective is to increase corporate responsibility, encourage active communication among stakeholders, as well as promote transparency and investor rights protection, for these issuers. On one hand, it will help these issuers achieve their long term needs; on the other hand, it will increase investor trust and play a significant role in attracting local and international investments.

Above mentioned Code of Corporate Governance for listed issuers reflects both general requirements and accounting standards. Code is based on approach "Carry out or explain and provide an alternative", which requires disclosure of various approaches and airms to promote best practices in Corporate Governance.

Corporate Governance Code is valid starting January 1st, 2022. Issuers will present reports based on new standards starting 2023.
